My name is Adam Cox and I am principal at Breckinridge County High School.  I am entering my seventh year at BCHS.  I taught three years in the special education department as a resource and collaborative teacher and I have been an assistant principal since 2011.  I also coach both the boys' and girls' golf teams.

I graduated high school from BCHS in 1998.  I then attended Western Kentucky University where I was a member of the Hilltopper golf team.  I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Economics from Western Kentucky University in 2003.  I was awarded my Masters of Arts in Exceptional Education in 2010 from Western Kentucky University and I completed my Rank I in 2012 in Administration.

I married my beautiful wife, Lacy, in 2006.  We reside in Clarkson, Kentucky and have two daughters: Ellington Jo and Brinley Grace.  In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf, working out, mowing, and enjoying time with my family.

Inspiring a Passion for Learning: Why Not the Best

As a 1998 graduate of Breckinridge County High School, it is an honor and a privilege to now be the Principal of this extraordinary school. I cannot fully explain the excitement that I have to educate your children, work with this great staff, and serve this amazing community on a daily basis.

Breckinridge County High School has been experiencing great success the last few years with recognition by the US News & World Report as a bronze medal school for four years in a row from 2013 to 2016. We have recently been designated as a Distinguished/High Performing high school by the Kentucky Department of Education. We have also been very fortunate to receive accreditation status from the AdvancED North Central Association Commission on Accreditation.
All of the above success would not be possible if not for the great people of Breckinridge County. We are blessed to have wonderful students walk our halls and grace us with excitement to learn each day. Our success is also due to the exceptional staff we have at BCHS. Our teachers enter the building each day focused on learning and determined to positively impact your children.

Again, I look forward to working with and for you! I look forward to instilling a Champion mentality in our student body. Just as we start every morning, “Work really hard, have a great day, and be a champion”. We at BCHS are going to focus on being a Champion. The expectations for a champion are great! Therefore, we are going to rise to the challenge of the expectations we set for ourselves and act, perform, and resemble a Champion in every facet of our lives.
